Reverse description Central device depicts the Afghan state emblem: a mihrab-style arched niche with radiating rays, flanked by two upright columns, with two crossed rifles and two crossed cannons below, all symbolising the military and religious authority of the Amirate. The emblem is encircled by a wreath of olive branches tied at the base, with a single five-pointed star at the apex above the arch. The whole composition is set within a finely toothed beaded border.
