Obverse description Armored half-length effigy of Zsigmond Báthori facing right, wearing elaborately decorated armor with ruff collar, the prince holding a scepter in his right hand and resting his left hand on his hip. The portrait is rendered in a vigorous Renaissance style typical of late 16th-century Transylvanian coinage. A circular beaded border frames the design, with the legend divided around the bust reading BATHORI SIGISMVNDVS.
