Obverse description Central view of the historic Lutheran church of Palmnicken (now Yantarny), rendered in high relief against a lightly textured field with seagulls in flight above the roofline. A heraldic eagle shield (the Prussian eagle) appears in the upper field above the church facade. The Cyrillic legend ИСТОРИЯ ВОСТОЧНОЙ ПРУССИИ (History of East Prussia) arcs along the upper rim, while the Latin inscription PALMNICKEN and the founding date 1654 are inscribed vertically along the right side. The lower exergue bears the Cyrillic text ЯНТАРНЫЙ 1946, referencing the town's Soviet-era renaming, flanked by small stars. The coin border is defined by a beaded inner ring.

Reverse description The denomination numeral 1 is prominently displayed in the center of the field in a large ornate typeface, surrounded by elaborate decorative scrollwork and flourishes in a historicist style. Below the numeral, the word ТАЛЕР is inscribed in a bold blackletter-style Cyrillic script. The issuer's legend КАЛИНИНГРАДСКИЙ МОНЕТНО-ЖЕТОННЫЙ ДВОР (Kaliningrad Coin and Token Mint) curves along the upper rim, while КАЛИНИНГРАД arcs along the lower rim above the beaded border. The date 2013 appears in the lower central field between the denomination and the bottom legend, flanked by small stars. The overall design employs strong contrast between raised elements and the recessed field, consistent with a prooflike or antique finish.
