Obverse description Central shield bearing four-fold quartered arms, the lower edge of the shield not breaking the inner circle, surmounted by an ornate crested helmet with elaborate mantling. The armorial composition is rendered in the late Renaissance style characteristic of late 16th-century German coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the central device, with the Latin legend disposed around the periphery.
