Obverse description Bust of Count William V of Henneberg facing three-quarters right, depicted wearing a fur-trimmed cloak and a chain of office around his neck, with his right hand raised at chest level. Below the bust, the quartered coat of arms of Henneberg is partially visible. The portrait is rendered in a robust late Renaissance hammered style typical of mid-16th century German thalers. The circular Latin legend reads WILHELMVS. D. G. C. HENNENBER., separated from the central effigy by a beaded inner border.
