| Reverse description | The reverse field is entirely occupied by a ten-line Latin funerary inscription in bold Roman lettering, recording the full name and titles of Prince Wilhelm Ludwig of Anhalt-Köthen, his birth date (18 August 1607), death date (14 August 1665), the duration of his reign (2 years, 10 months, 20 days), and the length of his life (57 years, 11 months, 27 days). A small decorative foliate ornament surmounts the inscription at the top of the field. The text concludes with a biblical citation from 1 John 5:4, offering a devotional epitaph. The inscription fills the entire flan with no surrounding legend, the rim being defined by a plain raised border. |
