Obverse description Laureate and armored bust of Gustavus Adolphus, King of Sweden, facing right, wearing elaborately decorated cuirass with a draped mantle visible at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the bold German Baroque style. The encircling Latin legend runs along the inner border of the milled edge. Two small incuse crosses appear in the field flanking the portrait, likely mint or die marks.
