| Reverse description | Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed at center, with wings spread, each head bearing a separate crown surmounted by a single larger imperial crown above. On the eagle's breast is an escutcheon bearing the arms of the House of Habsburg. The date appears in the upper field divided by the eagle's crowns. A circular Latin legend runs along the outer border, reading ARCHIDVX AVST DVX BVR MA MO, abbreviating Rudolf's titles as Archduke of Austria and Duke of Burgundy, Moravia, and related territories. The overall composition is bold and heraldically precise, consistent with Joachimsthal thaler production of the late sixteenth century. |
