Reverse description A detailed panoramic view of the city of Hanau occupies the central field, rendered in fine engraved perspective typical of late seventeenth-century German thalers. A flying angel appears above the cityscape, and below, a large crowned seven-fold heraldic achievement is supported on either side, flanked by the divided date 16-95 in the field. The entire composition is contained within a circular legend in Latin script, with the milled border framing the design.
