Reverse description St. George depicted on horseback advancing to the right, his lance thrust downward to slay a dragon prostrate beneath the horse's hooves. The knight is shown in full armour, and the composition is rendered in the late Renaissance style typical of Saxon-region thalers of the period. A small imperial orb appears at the commencement of the circumferential Latin legend, which records the comital and seigneurial titles of the Mansfeld lords.
