Obverse description Half-length armored effigy of Landgrave Moritz facing slightly right, depicted in three-quarter view wearing plate armor, holding a battle axe over his right shoulder and a helmet cradled in his left arm. The figure is rendered in the elaborate late Renaissance style typical of German princely portraiture. The circumferential legend in Latin identifies the issuer by name and title.
