| Obverse description | Armored bust of Mihály Apafi I, Prince of Transylvania, facing right within a beaded inner circle, wearing a plumed helmet and elaborate plate armor with decorative details. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style typical of Central European thaler coinage of the mid-17th century. A circular legend surrounds the bust along the hexagonal periphery, reading D·G·PR·TR· to the left and MICHA·APAFI· to the right. |
