| Obverse description | Armored bust of Prince Michael I Apafi facing right, wearing a fur-trimmed cap and elaborate plate armor with decorative gorget and sash visible at the truncation. The effigy occupies the central field and is rendered in high relief in the Baroque portrait style typical of Transylvanian thalers. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery between the inner and outer beaded borders. |
