| Obverse description | Armored bust of Archduke Maximilian III facing right, wearing a prominent ruffled collar, with the cross of the Teutonic Order displayed upon his breast, all within a beaded inner circle. The date is either divided by the bust or positioned in the field before it, depending on the variety, with the abbreviation 'Co' or 'CO' appearing below. The encircling Latin legend, commencing at twelve o'clock, reads for 'Maximilianus Dei Gratia Archidux Austriae Dux Burgundiae Styriae Carniolae.' The portrait is rendered in a detailed baroque style characteristic of early seventeenth-century Tyrolean coinage. The effigy is set against a flat field within the beaded border. |
