Reverse description The reverse presents a devotional image of the Virgin Mary seated facing slightly left, crowned and nimbed, holding the Christ Child on her left arm; the Child raises His right hand in blessing. Rays of divine light emanate from behind the figures, filling the inner field. The Virgin is draped in flowing robes and seated upon clouds, with a sceptre visible to the left. A beaded inner circle separates the central image from the surrounding circumferential Latin legend, which references the Marian motto of the Bavarian Wittelsbachs.
