Reverse description Armored equestrian effigy of the Grand Master mounted on a horse prancing to the right, surrounded by multiple heraldic shields of arms arranged around the field, each representing a territory or dignity of Archduke Maximilian. The date 1596 appears above the central shield at the bottom of the composition. The overall design follows the elaborate multi-shield reverse type characteristic of late sixteenth-century Teutonic Order thalers, rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail.
