| Obverse description | Crowned Madonna with the Christ child enthroned above the archiepiscopal arms, set within an inner circle bearing the opening words of the Marian prayer 'Sub tuum praesidium confugimus.' The outer legend, commencing at 12 o'clock, identifies the issuing archbishop and his titles. The composition is rendered in a formal Baroque style typical of Salzburg coinage of the late seventeenth century. |
