Obverse description Two standing haloed patron saints — St. Rupert on the left in pontifical vestments holding a crozier and salt barrel, and St. Virgil on the right in episcopal robes — flank the archiepiscopal arms at center, surmounted by a radiant triangle enclosing the All-Seeing Eye of God. The engraver's initials PS appear on either side of the shield below (Zöttl#1986 variant). A circular Latin legend commemorating the eleventh centenary of the founding of the Archbishopric of Salzburg runs along the border.
