| Obverse description | Central field displays the ornate crowned arms of Jever featuring a rampant lion within an elaborate Renaissance-style cartouche with foliate mantling, surmounted by a crested helm bearing a plume or wheat-sheaf device. The date 1561 is divided by the shield, with 15 to the left and 61 to the right. A beaded inner border separates the arms from the surrounding circular Latin legend reading MARI GFB DO V FR T IEV RV OS V VV, an abbreviation of Maria's full titulature as Lady of Jever and Fräulein of Anhalt. |
