| Obverse description | Right-facing armored bust of Duke Louis Rudolph of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, wearing a flowing full-bottomed wig with voluminous curls cascading over his shoulders, draped in elaborately engraved plate armor with a lace cravat visible at the throat. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style, occupying the central field. The encircling Latin legend reads LVDOVICVS·RVDOLPHVS·D·G·DVX·BR·ET·LVNEB, interrupted at the truncation, with the legend set between the milled border and the portrait field. |
