Obverse description Armored half-length effigy of Duke Ludwig of Württemberg facing right, clad in full plate armor and holding a commander's baton in his right hand and a rapier in his left. The figure is rendered in high relief with finely detailed engraving of the armor's surface. The date is divided and placed to either side of the figure in the field. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery within a beaded border.

Reverse description Quartered heraldic shield bearing the combined arms of Württemberg and Pfalz-Veldenz, surmounted by two ornately mantled and crested helms with elaborate foliate and figural crest decorations. The sinister helmet bears the Württemberg antler crest beneath a princely crown, while the dexter helmet displays the Pfalz-Veldenz crest. Mint initials N·G·W appear at the base of the shield in the lower field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition within a continuous beaded border.
