Obverse description Crowned imperial eagle displayed with spread wings, facing left, set within an unbordered field. A ribbon or band below the eagle bears the mintmaster's initials G.P.C.B.N. The circular legend surrounding the design reads AD NORMAM CONVENTIONIS with the denomination and mint name FRANCOFURTI, separated by ornamental stops. The eagle's style is distinctive and differs from the standard Frankfurt type, rendered in a bold, detailed engraving characteristic of mid-18th century German coinage.
