Reverse description The reverse presents a right-facing draped bust of Holy Roman Emperor Francis I (Franz I), rendered in high relief in the Baroque style, with long flowing curled wig and elaborately decorated armor with ornamental shoulder guard. The portrait occupies the central field with considerable sculptural depth. The circumferential legend FRANSISCUS I·D· G·ROM·IMP·SEMP·AUG· arcs around the upper and lateral periphery, identifying the emperor by name and his imperial titles. A finely serrated milled border encircles the design.
