| Obverse description | Draped bust of Duke Julius Francis of Saxe-Lauenburg facing right, wearing a flowing wig of long curled hair and armor with a lace cravat at the throat. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the late Baroque portrait style typical of German principality thalers of the period. The circular Latin legend runs along the inner border of the milled edge, interrupted at the base of the bust. |

The circular Latin motto legend is divided across the field, reading around the coin within the milled border. |
