Obverse description Draped bust of Bishop Joseph Ignatius Philip of Hessen-Darmstadt facing right, wearing episcopal robes and a pectoral cross suspended on a chain across the chest, with curled wig falling to the shoulders. A mintmaster's mark appears in the lower field beneath the truncation. The encircling Latin legend reads around the full periphery of the coin within a beaded border.
