| Obverse description | Facing half-length portrait bust of Archbishop Johann Schweikhard von Kronberg, draped in richly ornamented ecclesiastical vestments with a lace collar visible at the neck, his bearded face turned slightly forward within an inner beaded circle. The archiepiscopal coat of arms, quartered with the wheel of Mainz and the arms of Kronberg, is displayed below the bust. The circumscribed Latin legend reading IO·SVIC·D·G·ARCHIEPS·MOGVNT·PRINC·ELE· runs between the inner beaded border and the outer toothed rim, identifying the issuer as Archbishop of Mainz and Prince-Elector. |
