| Obverse description | Central eightfold quartered coat of arms with the central escutcheon bearing the arms of Hoya, the whole surmounted by three elaborate crested helmets with mantling. The arms incorporate the quarters of Münster, Osnabrück, Paderborn, and related territories. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery within a beaded border, reading the bishop's titles and abbreviated territorial designations. |
