| Reverse description | Central field depicts a rampant Bohemian lion facing left, rendered with elaborate decorative detail including a curled tail and bifurcated tongue, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The lion, as the heraldic symbol of the County of Glatz, is shown in high relief consistent with the hammered technique of the period. The surrounding legend reads MONE. NO. COMITATVS. GLACEN. followed by the date, identifying this as the new money of the County of Glatz. The date visible in the image appears as 1542, consistent with the known date range for this issue. The lettering is in Roman capitals typical of Latin-inscribed Bohemian Renaissance thalers. |
