Obverse description Armored bust of John I, Count Palatine of Zweibrücken, facing slightly to the right, wearing elaborately engraved plate armor and a prominent ruffled lace collar. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the beard and facial features, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend reads MO. IMP. D. G. IOHAN. COM. PALA. RH. DV. BA., separated by small star stops, identifying the ruler by name and title.

Reverse description Elaborate quartered coat of arms of the Palatinate-Zweibrücken dynasty, displaying multiple heraldic charges including the Bavarian lozengy pattern and the Palatinate lion, surmounted by two ornate crowned helmets with mantling and crests, the whole set within a decorative cartouche. A small orb or cross badge appears at the top of the shield. The surrounding Latin legend, split by the helmet crests, reads COM. VEL. ET. S - SPON. BIPON. C(V)., denoting the Count's additional titles, all within a beaded border.
