Reverse description The elaborate crowned and quartered electoral arms of Saxony occupy the central field, displaying multiple heraldic quarterings including the Rautenkranz (barry of ten with a bend engrailed) of Saxony, encircled by the shields of subsidiary territories. The achievement is surmounted by multiple crested helms with mantling, and a large electoral bonnet appears at the top center. The date and mintmaster's initials appear in the legend or field. A Latin inscription surrounding the shield identifies the elector's titles as Arch-Marshal and Prince-Elector of the Holy Roman Empire.
