Obverse description Armored bust of John George II, Elector of Saxony, facing right, with long flowing hair, the figure wearing plate armor with a gorget and draped mantle. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the German Baroque style. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading IOHAN GEORG II D G DVX SAXICL ET MONT (or similar), separated by a rosette or cross ornament. The coin is struck within a plain inner border with a milled outer edge.
