Reverse description Elaborate crowned and helmeted achievement of arms of the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, comprising a large multi-quartered shield displaying the various territorial arms including the rampant lions of Thuringia, the crossed swords of the Electorate of Saxony, and other dynastic quarterings. The shield is flanked by two rampant lion supporters on elaborate foliate mantling. The date 1687 appears divided within the surrounding legend, which reads ET MONITUM along the left and IULLE CLVII to the right.
