Reverse description The reverse bears a nine-line funerary inscription in Latin capitals filling the entire field, commemorating the death of Duchess Margaretha Elisabeth on 16 November 1616. The text is framed above and below by small ornamental crosses and dot stops, with a beaded inner border and a milled outer rim encircling the legend. The solemn epitaphic formula closes with the phrase IN DOMINO MORTVAE, affirming that the duchess died in the Lord. The strictly epigraphic composition, devoid of figural imagery, reflects the Lutheran devotional character of early seventeenth-century German memorial coinage.
