Obverse description Central quartered coat of arms of the Bishopric of Hildesheim, featuring the characteristic stepped gable motif of the diocese, surmounted by an ornate baroque helmet with elaborate foliate mantling extending to either side of the shield. The mint master's initials HI appear in the lower field flanking the shield. The circumferential legend reads clockwise, interrupted by the date 1700 at the top.
