| Obverse description | Armored half-length bust of Joachim Friedrich, Margrave of Brandenburg, facing right, wearing an elaborately decorated suit of armor with a ruffled collar and a small heraldic shield at the lower right. The date 1606 is divided by the bust, with '1' to the left and '606' to the right. The effigy is rendered in a robust, late-Renaissance engraving style with fine detail on the armor's articulation.
