| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the arms of the Hermannstadt (Sibiu) mint: a rampant ibex facing left above a crescent and star, with the date 1565 inscribed in the lower portion of the shield. A scroll banner above the shield bears the abbreviated legend IO·SE·R·V·. The overall design is characteristic of mid-16th century Transylvanian hammered coinage, with the shield rendered in a Renaissance heraldic style. |
