Obverse description At center, the helmeted arms of the County of Montfort displayed on a baroque cartouche shield, surmounted by a crested closed helmet adorned with mantling and flanked on either side by tasseled ornaments. The entire armorial composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A Latin legend encircles the design reading the names and titles of the joint counts Hugo and Johannes of Montfort.

Reverse description A crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the field, its wings spread, bearing an imperial orb on its breast. The eagle represents the authority of the Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II, whose name and titles appear in a Latin legend surrounding the eagle within a beaded border: FERDINADVS II DG ROM IMP S I A, with a cross patee as a punctuation mark.
