| Additional information |
Henry Wenceslaus and Charles Frederick I ruled Münsterberg-Oels jointly as Piast dukes under Bohemian suzerainty — a dynastic arrangement that made co-regency thalers a practical necessity rather than a ceremonial curiosity. This issue falls precisely at the outbreak of the Thirty Years' War, which began in Bohemia in 1618 with the Defenestration of Prague. The duchy's Protestant allegiance placed it in immediate political jeopardy as Habsburg forces moved to reassert Catholic authority across Silesia.
The two-year span of this type reflects the brevity of the joint reign before the political situation foreclosed further independent coinage.
