Obverse description Central field displays a large crowned four-fold coat of arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg, elaborately mantled with scrollwork and supported by decorative flourishes, surmounted by a crested helm. The peripheral legend in Latin, reading the titles of Duke Heinrich (Henry the Younger), runs along the coin's outer border, separated from the arms by an inner beaded circle. The heraldic shield is quartered and displays the traditional Brunswick and Lüneburg charges including lions and other dynastic emblems.
