Obverse description Nine-fold quartered arms with central shield, surmounted by three ornate helmets with elaborate mantling, arranged in heraldic display. The surrounding legend contains the titles and name of Heinrich Julius, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, rendered in Latin. The shield composition reflects the dynastic territorial claims of the Brunswick line, with the helmets displaying crests in high relief characteristic of late 16th-century German coin engraving.
