| Obverse description | Conjoined busts of Duke Henry II the Younger and his son Erich II facing one another in the field, both depicted in three-quarter profile in Renaissance armour with richly detailed dress and collars. The elder figure to the left bears a long beard, while the younger figure to the right wears a cap. The two effigies are rendered in high relief in the late German Renaissance hammered style. The circumferential Latin legend, separated by pellets, reads V G G HENRIH V ERIH GEVET Z BRVN LVN followed by the date, running along the raised border. |
