Obverse description Central design features the enthroned Madonna and Child, crowned and nimbed, seated frontally above a large quartered coat of arms of the Schlick family. The shield is flanked by the mintmaster's initials S and A in the field. The encircling legend reads HEINRIC.SCHLICK.COMES.A.PASAN, rendered in Latin capital letters around the periphery. The heraldic shield below the Madonna displays the characteristic Schlick armorial quarterings in fine relief. The overall composition is executed in the robust, high-relief hammered style typical of early seventeenth-century Bohemian thalers.
