Obverse description Central field occupied by a large, elaborately quartered coat of arms of the Duchy of Brunswick-Lüneburg, featuring multiple heraldic charges including rampant lions, a rearing horse, and other dynastic emblems across twelve quarters, surmounted by a ducal crown. The shield is rendered in high relief with fine engraving detail characteristic of 17th-century German taler coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design, running along the raised rim.
