Reverse description Large elaborate quartered heraldic shield bearing the many arms of the Hohenzollern dominions, surmounted by a crowned eagle displayed; the shield is divided into multiple compartments containing the arms of Brandenburg, Prussia, Cleves, Jülich, Berg, Pomerania, Silesia, and other territories. The mintmaster's initials L and M appear flanking the shield in the middle field. The date 1640 is inscribed below the shield in the lower field. A continuous Latin legend encircles the reverse, enumerating the elector's remaining territorial titles, with the legend reading from the obverse continuation.
