Obverse description Armored bust of Elector George William of Brandenburg facing right, wearing elaborate plate armor with a ruffled lace collar and holding a scepter; the Hohenzollern eagle shield is visible at the lower right of the effigy. The bust is rendered in high relief in the hammered style typical of early seventeenth-century German coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the central design, with the Latin legend running continuously around the outer border. The inscription abbreviates the elector's full titles as Margrave of Brandenburg, Duke of Prussia, and associated dignities.
