Obverse description The central field displays the elaborate crowned heraldic arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg, composed of multiple quartered escutcheons reflecting the dynastic territories. The mint official's initials appear divided on either side of the shield. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition, with the regnal title of George I as Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg and Arch-Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire, the date and mint master's initials appearing at the conclusion of the legend.
