Obverse description Two half-length effigies of the co-ruling dukes facing one another in the field, each clad in period armour or ducal regalia; a small imperial orb is positioned above between the figures. The composition is rendered in the late Renaissance style typical of German territorial coinage of the late sixteenth century. The encircling Latin legend identifies the rulers by name and title, interrupted by the figures.
