Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of Friedrich Wilhelm, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and side-whiskers. The truncation is plain. A circular beaded border frames the design, with the circumscribed legend running along the upper periphery and the mint mark letter 'A' (Berlin) positioned at the base of the bust below the truncation. The portrait is engraved in a restrained neoclassical style characteristic of Friedrich Wilhelm Kullrich's work for the Berlin Mint.
