Obverse description Draped bust of Margrave Frederick III facing right, wearing a flowing wig with long curled locks and an elaborate lace cravat, rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner. The effigy is finely detailed, with the drapery of the mantle visible at the truncation. The circular Latin legend reads FRIDERICVS D.G.M.B.D.P.ET S.B.N., abbreviating his full margravial titles, distributed evenly around the periphery. The field is smooth and unadorned, allowing the portrait to dominate the coin's surface. A toothed border frames the entire obverse.
