Obverse description Laureate bust of Frederick II (the Great) facing right, with long flowing hair tied at the nape, rendered in a late Baroque portrait style. The effigy occupies the central field, with the laurel wreath depicted in fine relief detail. The circular legend FRIDERICUS BORUSSORUM REX runs along the upper periphery, interrupted by the truncation of the bust at lower left and right. The rim is defined by a fine milled border.
